I want to invite you to a “tea party” (for lack of a better term) event on Sep 6th 7PM @ Corinth Library 8100 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS. We (sponsored by the FreedomKeepers) are bringing in the Author (or Co-Author) of the book “The Original Argument”.
Our Mercury One Group (FreedomKeepers) is reading and discussing the book “The Original Argument”, which is basically a complete rewrite of the Federalist Papers in today’s language. Of course as you may or may not know the Federalist Papers were written by Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison trying to convince the country why they needed to adapt the Constitution (making the case for the Constitution, to the American people).
It’s not imperative that you read (or have read) the book or even understand the federalist papers to attend this event. If you’re even somewhat interested in History and or getting this country back on track I think you’d get something out of this event. If nothing else it should be a great learning event about the Federalist Papers and the process Joshua Charles went through (working with Glenn Beck) to make them readable and understandable for people like us today.
I personally feel that this country needs to get back to a constitutionally limited government, and I think understanding the case the founders had to make to convince the people in 1778 is vital to making that case today. We have a president that is out there saying “the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties” and the left is trying to convince people that the government gives you rights (not that they are God given and unalienable) and that the Constitution is an out dated old document written by a bunch of old white racist men from way back when. We must understand why would our president say such things and understand how to combat them; understand why the left is trying to convince us and our youth that they give us rights (what they give, they can take away); and why is the Constitution still valid today (why it’s not a living, breathing, document). And most importantly understanding what the Constitution was meant to do, how and why!
If the great experiment (the American experiment) (“Is man capable of ruling himself) is going to thrive once again, I feel it’s necessary or even our duty to understand the case for the Constitution. I think this event and this book provide both.
So I just wanted to extend that offer to you. I really hope you’d consider going. It’s not a commitment; it’s simply a few hours of your life where you might learn something & get to meet great people who love this country.
