Event Description
SCAR-FEST is a fundraiser for Tempered Steel. We are a 501(c)3 Public Charity that is educating the public on the stories behind the scars and wounds of war by uniting Wounded Warriors with the public through dialogue. To accomplish their goals, Tempered Steel sends its severely wounded military members from the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars to speak to schools, community groups and corporations about their very personal stories of injury and recovery.
Tempered Steel’s Wounded Warriors break down barriers while revealing they are still caring human beings with feelings, wants, desires and needs. Their circumstances and resulting wounds changed their appearances and physical abilities, but a beauty lies beneath that is brought through by their perseverance to survive and a self-acceptance of their injuries.Comment Wall
