Political CHIPS - Conservative Heritage Institute for Principled Strength

Arizona Republican Governor, Jan Brewer, just signed new immigration law, making it a crime to be an illegal in Arizona.  She stated she's implored Obama to "do something!"  and has been continously ignored so did what she had to do to protect the people of the state as she was set into office to do. I am writing this discussion forum because she has acted BOLDLY and this is not her first time, and I thought good conservatives would like hearing about a good conservative.

I knew nothing about Jan Brewer, not even recognizing her name when the news broke about this bill.  Now I know some to share.

Democrat Janet Napolitano was elected Governor of Arizona; she resigned in January 2009 to become Obama's appointed Secretary of Homeland Security. When she did so, the Arizona Constitution dictates the Secretary of State becomes Governor---Republican Janice Brewer.  Who says every single political position isn't important--or perhaps critical--in history?

As Governor just these past 15 months, Brewer has signed laws for stronger gun rights--(conceal carry without a permit and guns okay in bars IF bar owners want it), repealed Napolitano's LGBT benefit costing Arizona $3 million a year, eliminated all or some of the SCHIPS bill, and is pursuing class action against ObamaCare for her state.  Now, folks, this IS a conservative.  I hope she doesn't disappoint me later (like McCain), but so far so good.  She is running in her own right for re-election THIS YEAR.  Got an extra $5 or $10--giving encouragement for her conservatism and stand up fearless attitude?  Never know where someone may end up---she could run for the Arizona House or Senate with the resume she's building--and then she'd influence every single one of us.  For now, just that she's "out there" with these pluses is a plus!   The STAND UP, SPEAK UP has begun.

When the immigration bill was signed, there was wild rioting---by the Left, of course. School kids took off from school (truant officer, anyone--or is that too old fashioned today?), illegals and their guilt-ridden friends ("Raise Our Taxes!") stormed the streets.  However, guess what the Arizona polling showed?  uh huh.   The Arizona PEOPLE are in agreement with their Governor.

Much of this stemmed from the fairly recent murder of an Arizona rancher on his own property...still ALLEGED I guess, by an illegal---who Rob Krentz may have even befriended with water at one time. The Krentz family had ranched in the location he was killed at since 1907. Enough is Enough.  Sadly, though, the headline around this bill signing, from Fox News no less, included the line "the TRAGIC DEATH"....no, not death...MURDER.

One of the top stories on Google (you do know they are in Obama's pocket, don't you?) on Jan Brewer was a post by ASTROCHICKS.  Oh, great. This is their headline:  "Has Arizona become the new hate capital of the United States?"  followed by, "Jan Brewer has waged war."   Aren't we all just getting terminally sick and tired of these people?

Some of Jan Brewer's statements from this week's interviews after signing this bill:  "It's an Invasion!" ---     "Not going to sit still."   ----  and  ---- "This is America, after all."

You can sign a petition that you agree with her at www.janbrewer.com

P.S.  This IS still America, after all....isn't it?

I do like the stand that she has taken on immigration and the below quote however, she is supporting McCain for senate. No, never the perfect candidate only good ones.

Thanks, Greg, for info. Not at all surprised, however. Have you been reading my "Vetting & Venting" comments on KS 3rd District about endorsements? It'll cover this as well. McCain right now has the power, he has the connections (as most incumbents) and she says she's known him a long time (just like passing in the hallways, working on projects, bills, etc. together).....besides that, with his power, sure that she is thinking she could use his help in WDC and her main focus is on HELP for Arizona right now.

It's unfortunate, but it is politics. Besides, she may truly like the guy. I did once myself. Won't go into convulsions if he wins again (am surprised at the percentage he's ahead, however) as there are so many more I dislike and despise more than him....and have the attitude, "It could be worse...." (aaaugh).....

P.S. Still love her (up to this moment. As I said, it is politics and it can change in a cool wind).....wish that McCain would take some lessons from HER.
I used to like Mc myself until I saw his self-serving politics to gain popularity for his dynasty career. I have been disgusted by his latest round of propaganda TV spots. It is true that politics and what folks want is a very wide arena. As for Jan Brewer, I watched the Fox coverage and decided it was bull pucky time; the Governor did not get the slightest attention that is needed. It is a political game, but the idiot in charge is playing the game from the wrong side of the board and without playing pieces. I am at a loss for words (very unusual for me) that describe the political games going on. I'm going to be quiet before I earn a radical rating. Just remember, I'm not happy! LOL
John, at this point in our Nation's lack of common sense, stupidity, ignorance, ideology, Marxism, non-representation by our elected officials, wimpy and sissy men at the helm, unsustainable spending and taxing, and little to no ethics, principles, or values at the top of our country's pecking order of leadership---I WANT A RADICAL RATING. In fact, I'm hoping I have a very high number. :)

In the 1960s these same "pecking leaders" were those "against the establishment---against the MAN"---well, now they ARE those very same they were against---they (oh, God) ARE in charge---they are the establishment, "the Man" (actually, it's now simulcast with "Big Brother")---sooo---it is only fitting, then, that we, the fighters against them are now "the radicals"......
That is so true Yvonne, we used to say never trust anyone over 30; I passed that barrier a few decades back. I see indignant protesters furthering their goals in the streets now and that is good. It's just too bad the protests are organized by unions and the like. I saw on Fox the gal named Kelly completely pinned Jessie Jackson to the wall on the wording of the AZ illegal immigrant law. All Jackson could do is keep spitting out the law is racial and encourages racial profiling. It didn't matter what was pointed out even about the federal law. His litany was racial profiling. Even if Kelly had proven his mother wrote the law he would still keep saying over and over again how the law encourages racism.

The act that Jackson put on proves a very important thing. Racism is what the activists are using as a tool. It doesn't matter if they are confronted with truth. All the anti-law activists are interested in is making a huge racial rights issue out of nothing. People get emotional about racism and the racist activists and trying very hard to push folks over the edge with clear untruths.

My solution to the comprehensive reform is 3 divisions of military complete with mechanized armor and air support. One of those nice little fences of razor wire backed up with land mines and more wire. A nice example of a DMZ is the border between North and South Korea. What is really sad is the fact that the whole 2nd Infantry Division of American soldiers help keep that form of barrier. It's not just American troops there of course; S. Korea has many of it's nation's soldiers on the DMZ and is countered by N. Korea.

You can bet if anything of that sort on our Continent separating North America from Middle America would be so infamous that the whole world would cry out. We are not at war with Mexico like technically the Korean nations, but I think it would be good. Something like a barrier between the nations of America and Mexico would be used to show proof the racists were right all along. It's too bad Governor Brewer got only a token effort by the government to placate some American citizens. I have to say I love the metal the governor is made of.
Thank you for notifying me of your enlightening piece about Governor Brewer, Yvonne. I have become a die-hard fan of the good Guv'nor and I liked finding out about her position on other issues. I hadn't known about any of them until I read your article. I hope Brewer has a long and fruitful political career.

One thing that I particularly noticed was your reporting of ASTROCHICKS referring to Arizona as 'the new hate capital'. Of course, unfounded and unfair accusations of hate seem de rigeur for the left nowadays, but we really have to keep our finger on the progress of hate crime legislation in the US. Hate crime laws in England and Europe are used to silence even mere disagreement with protected classes of people. These laws are applied capriciously and unfairly, and they--or even the threat of falling afoul of them--are often used to squelch dissent. Hate speech laws against 'religious hatred' land people in court for merely expressing criticism of Islamic beliefs.

Since the left in the US seems to believe we should become more like Europe, and considering the regular accusations of 'hate' from groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations and their leftist fellow-travelers, we should keep our eyes open for hate crime legislation here. An overview of a few hate crime prosecutions in Europe, written in January 2009, can be found at http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/3767
And the plot keeps getting thicker 'n thicker---along with Obama's thick government CONTROL AND POWER GOVERNMENT BOOK---now he's got his henchman, Attorney General Eric Holder, suing Arizona, one of our own sovereignty states rather than help with the problem!

Meeting with Obama is a total waste of time....he met with Brewer....made his "slick" promises and then stabbed her in the back by doing this instead of his promises without even calling to tell her what he was intending to do.

Corruption to the core!
Someone called in today to one of the many radio shows I listen to, making an excellent observation. She said that if the government wants control of the border and immigration and is suing Arizona because they should not be making their own laws or decisions around immigration, then the government should have been--and should now--also sue all the SANCTUARY cities in the United States who have made their very own "unauthorized" decisions on not only allowing illegals into their cities, but also protecting them and, even further, disobeying the FEDERAL law by refusing to turn the illegal immigrants into the Federal Government's ICE office.....

Hmmmm. Hello, Attorney General? Hello, drive-by sanctuary--and sanctimonious media?
How about Senator Jon Kyl come out with a press conference---as though he is about to "apologize" for saying that the story that Obama told him he was holding our national security hostage for not securing our borders in place of an amnesty bill--was "a mistake"---misinterpreted---and he's sorry (he'd BETTER NOT DO THIS!)

So, while he has the state-run media gathered together, drooling and gasping in anticipation of Kyl's "lie gotcha" for them to run and wildly skip to their mics and columns---they hear Kyl say "I will take a lie detector test on this issue. Anybody want to sit in--maybe even Mr. Obama?"

Oh, if only......

I may make a call to his office and just approach the idea....good idea? You? If only to make sure he does not have any intention to apologize! Calling friends and family in Arizona may be an even better idea for their calls to him....????
