RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

I may anger some. I have written a number of blogs about the need for Christians to stand up and assert themselves. This nations founders were very explicit when they said that our rights are derived and granted by God and not by government (men). Our First amendment tells us that we have the right to worship when, where and how we choose. It doesn't say that the courts can determine our rights at a later date and it doesn't say that we have to file endless lawsuits to do what we already have the right to do. It doesn't say that we have to wait for a judge's opinion to find out whether we can pray in school, at work, at home, on the steps of the Supreme court or as soldiers during peacetime, at war or at any other time. The First Amendment simply says that Congress may not make any law which abridges our right to practice our religion freely - period.

I am assailed every day by mail, email, etc asking me to send money so "they" can fight for my right to practice my religion. Hogwash! I don't need and you don't need organizations or people who say that they will "fight for your rights". Just go do your thing! They aren't going to shoot you. They aren't going to lock you up forever. They may handcuff you and they may take you to jail but they will release you "on personal recognizance" right away. They do it to intimidate you. They really don't care about the individual citizen who violates their prohibition of public practice of religion because they are after the big money people, the incs. which have some money; the folks who are always bugging you for money so they can fight for your rights which just happen to be the ones who will never actually defy the law because they are too busy making money off you to feed the court system with their endless lawsuits to win what already belongs to you.
