Political Chips - Let YOUR Voice Be Heard

Political Chips - Let YOUR Voice Be Heard

Sorry I have not been on in a while. Life and learning to deal with diabetes consumed more time than I thought. I am the teacher, in my 19th year, that was hauled in to the principal's office and told "Everyone knows you're a conservative, it is the major topic of discussion and dissension among the faculty, and a parade of teachers has come to me demanding that you be disciplined and or fired." From there we became engaged in a tense debate with him refusing to specify my crime or name my "accusers," me using the words, "discrimination, persecution, and double standard," and him using the words, "This isn't finished, this isn't over" and me being demoted from teaching Government and advanced studies history to the lowest level of American history no one wants to teach. They threw in Modern Global Issues because no one wants to teach that either. Word got out and now I have achieved pariah status. The principal had googled my name, saw that I wrote for the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance, called me in about that, had a dossier of my articles, and now no one speaks to me. The most common comment I hear at meetings is "Don't sit by him, he is poison, he is toxic," or "Sitting by him is career suicide. Even a friendly liberal colleague no longer talks to me. When I asked if "they  had gotten to him," he answered "Well, kind of." Now I am being told I am all over the internet and if they are reading my connection with Political Chips, that will retaliate. Was it worth it? You bet.

My students are reading: The Mythology of Roosevelt and the New Deal by Robert HIggs, The Freeman, September 1998, Foundation For Economic Freedom. in which the author argues the New Deal prolonged the Depression by many years. As to bias? The other teachers in the Socialist Studies Department are teaching the exact opposite and there are twelve of them and only one of me.

Wow, what a nasty position to be in. Good for you in standing up for your beliefs and values. It is the typical liberal mind set to be "tolerant" of anyone who agrees with them but not of those who dissent. Ergo, tolerance flies out of the window like a bird set free. Couldn't you add in the words "hate speech" to the list of discrimination, persecution and double standard? They would absolutely lose their minds if you said that! It might be fun to watch.

It looks like your demotion is actually working to their disadvantage since your students are going to be farther ahead than the students in the liberal classes. I suspect your reading material will cover both sides of the argument and the other "teachers" only cover one side.

Hmmm, Modern Global Issues and reading about Roosevelt, what a coincidence. Who says there is no God?

Get the union involved on a Hostile Workplace claim. Their heads would explode!

Nick, you do not have to tolerate this sort of blatant discrimination.

What the school district is doing to you is being done all over the USA, to countless 'non-conforming' teachers.  If you are interested in taking legal action v. your district, I'd be glad to get you in touch with [free] representation, who do this sort of lawsuit pro-bono, in defense of our First Amendment.
