Oh, Kim!  I am so sorry!  I also remember your parents  from when your dad was speaking at the library!  It was such a pleasure meeting them.  My prayers for you and your family.

Thanks, Sally. I didn't say anything because Jody's husband passed away two days after Ma, and I caught that information while we were on the road. It didn't seem appropriate at the time.

She had been suffering from Alzheimer's for several years, although she was still living at home, and my dad was caring for her. On the evening of September 21, they were getting ready to go to a concert when she had a stroke, fell, and hit her head on the ledge of a bay window in their living room. She underwent surgery, but remained in an induced coma until Monday, the 24th, when she was removed from the ventilator to see if she could sustain her own breathing. She could not. 

I'm glad you remember them when my dad spoke on his WWII experiences. Thank you for remembering them.

Kim, I didn't know your mother had died, either! I'm SO sorry! I wish you'd said something - I had no idea! Had she been ill? I remember your parents when your dad spoke to us at the library several years ago, about his time in the service to our country. Having lost both my parents some time ago, I understand the sorrow that you are experiencing, and I will pray for His comfort for you and for your father. My deepest sympathies, Kim!
