Talked with Gayle today as was concerned about your family and got her assurance you were doing fine. Sorry about your uncle loss; it hurts to lose any one within our families. Thinking of you. Was excited to hear that Dan was with General Petraeus today.....best to all of you. :)

Dear Heavenly Father,

There are time's in our lives when we hear of things that bring much sadness, things that just cause us to go to our knee's to ask for mercy and grace to help in time of need. Lord you said in Hebrews 4:16 "Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." So Lord I just want to lift up Daniel and Anna and their family to you and ask you that you would make your presence with them very evident, and that you would give them that peace that surpasses all understanding. We always need this but sometimes it just seems we need it more.

Lord it is hard to lose loved ones, but especially at this time when Anna's mom is going through chemo the stress and anxiety can seem overwhelming, grant her dear Lord an extra measure of Your Grace. Help her to keep her focus on Jesus our Lord and our Savior. And Lord give Daniel and increasing strength so that he can be there for Anna through this tough time, help him to be the man of God you want him to be.

And Lord it is difficult for us to let go of those who are close to us, and we don't always understand your timing, Help us not to be bitter. We know that these bodies are not going to last forever, but we thank you that because of the sacrifice of your Son Jesus that our spiritual bodies do. We thank you at this time for your Psalms which continually lifts up our soul when we are in any sorrow. Psalm 116:15 is one of my favorite verses "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of HIS saints."

Help us dear Lord to come to the place where we can say along with Job: "Though HE slay me, YET will I trust HIM."

I second Greg's question---and wanted to tell you how pleased and happy I was to hear the news that your mother received a good medical report. How many more miracles and God's blessings are waiting for your family? :)

First of all I want to say thank you first to Danny for the service to this great nation, and to you Ana because I know it is not only the service member that sacrifices but also their spouses and their children. Time away to protect our precious freedom I know must have been hard. I too spent time in the Marine Corps (Corpse to Obama) but my time was mostly peace time, I was in San Diego bootcamp when Iran had our hostages in Tehran in 1980, this was before our great President Ronald Reagan was elected, the only other thing that happened during my time in was the bombing of our Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. I know men aren't supposed to cry (bah) but when I read what you wrote about yourself and about Danny I had to wipe away a few, and when I think of what has happened to our great nation in such a short amount of time I really want to cry out to God that He would have mercy on us and that He would come to our aid and hide us from our enemies and that our enemies would be caught in their own nets. I had not heard of you all until the Tea Party at Community America Ballpark. That night gave me some hope. But I must admit I really feel like we don't have until November, I hate to be pessimistic but I think the longer Obama is in office the worse things are going to get and the harder it will be to undo the horrible things he is doing to our country. It is hard for me to fathom how this "USURPER" can get away with all these things and there doesn't seem to be enough good men in positions of authority who have the courage to stand up and say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" Like LtCol Lakin. I pray for our leaders and for those who would be our leaders in November. It could be that Danny's life was spared for this very reason, THAT AT SUCH A TIME AS THIS GOD HAS PLACED HIM WHERE HE IS FOR THE SAVING OF THIS GREAT NATION TO TURN IT AGAIN TO ITS GOD.
