Hey, great. Like Fort Larned a lot. The director is the wife of CB's (my hubby) childhood friend who is the prez of one of Larned's banks. We know a long-time employee of Larned's "Tiller and Toiler" newspaper. Duncha just love that name? They've been around forever; we've gone thru the archives there and found several very old articles of CB's family. He doesn't know Marmie Ford, though. Other relatives live on farm (100 years of farming) in Garfield. Unfortunately, we fear most of them are liberal today; hope we're wrong. :) Do you know the name John Vratil? He's a KS Senator from Leawood and is from Larned. He's a Republican (so-called), but we desperately want him out as he votes extremely liberal.....just voted against the abortion issue and votes for tax increases.

Derek, I was just on David Powell's page and saw your comment on being from Great Bend. My husband grew up in Larned and we visit there when we can--and drive thru Lyons, which you also mentioned. Wonder if you know anyone we know from Larned--or familiar with the city. If so, you might remember the split streets of STARKS DRIVE....?? Named after my husband's father who constructed the metal Lustron (sp?) homes of yesteryear. Familiar at all?

Seeing your billboard signup as well, wondering if you're aware of the Jackson Co. billboard on "prepare for war...live free or die" that's hit the Internet and Beck also covered today on his radio show.
