My late Grandfather Radmanesh. Colonel of the Shah's Imperial Army 1935, he fought gallantly at the battle of Maku, in the north against the invading Communist forces when Russia invaded Iran, on August 25th, 1941. After the Soviet victory ...over Iranian forces, my Grandfather, a devout Royalist refused to surrender and lay down his weapon. Instead he went in to the mountains and joined up with some Gorilla fighters, and continued fighting the occupying Soviet forces until the end of the war.
