Moran Ranks as Biggest Office Spending in Senate

That's the title to a post by Steve Kraske at the KC Star's Midwest Democracy blog. The reference is to Kansas Senator Jerry Moran(R), a founding member of the Senate Tea Party caucus dedicated to cutting government spending and reducing the federal debt. The obvious implication is Sen. Moran(R) is a hypocritical big spender, not a fiscal conservative. Kraske's headline was distilled from…See More

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."I take great comfort in this passage, especially in the face of foibles, frustrations and fights foisted upon the 6 billion inhabitants of this rock by…See More

2012 Missouri Ballot Recommendations, Part Two

**Missouri Judicial Ballot There are twelve judges of various levels on this ballot, yet I don't have sufficient information, one way or the other on any of them, to make an informed recommendation. If anyone knows of a reputable clearing house for this type of research, please let us all know.**Vote NO on Missouri Constitutional Amendment 3.Why? This amendment seeks to change how Missouri appoints judges to the state Supreme Court and itsappellate courts. What we have now is called the…See More

My 2012 Missouri Ballot Recommendations, Part One

**Missouri SECRETARY OF STATE: Shane Schoeller(R).Why? The Secretary of State Project. What's that, you ask? From Ballotpedia:"The SOS Project stems largely from the Democracy Alliance, an unapologetically self-described 'liberal organization' founded in 2005 "whose long-term objective is to raise $200 million to develop a funding clearinghouse for progressive groups."The SOS Project believes it can accomplish those…See More

Todd Akin(R) Likens Claire McCaskill(D) to a Dog

The KC Star's Steve Kraske has once again highlighted another nugget of excrement which fell out of Todd Akin's mouth. (link here) But you know what? I just can't get excited about these daily nuggets of excrement gleaned from Todd Akin's mouth which seems to give the KC Star major wood. Todd Akin(R) was not my first choice for senator, but Claire Bear(D) is darn sure the…See More

Obama Campaign Had Electoral Vision and the Republicans Wore Spectacles

"Ups and Downs of Campaign Obscure What Matters" is the title Dave Helling at the KC Star  put to his latest Op/Ed, published today.

Mr. Helling's 'pithy analysis' is an odd mix of self-congratulation for his correct prediction about the national election, and a lament about our national polarized politics that have become, well, nationalized; the result of which…

Inflammatory Ignorance: Shouting 'Disenfranchised' in a Crowded Polling Place

Posted on November 13, 2012 at 9:30pm 0 Comments

I ran across a disturbing post at the 'Uncommon Courage' blog entitled 'The Disenfranchised Voters in Grandview (Missouri).'

What I found disturbing was the blog owner states she's an attorney, yet the sophomoric level of 'awareness' concerning our local election laws, ballots, and the boards which administer them didn't strike me as observations from a post-graduate, let alone someone who passed the Missouri Bar.…

Whew! Started out having to look up "Philippic"....appreciate learning the new word and how appropriate for today...BITTER DENUNCIATION about says it all, doesn't it? You might like to read my PChips blogs, some back a few months... some possible "new words" and one almost entirely about words....Orwell. :)
Liked your blog a lot. What a mess we're all in. The no one calling back is a complaint in all today's business as far as I'm concerned--the "entitled" generations--deciding who's "worthy" enough to "care" about with their importance to call back. Lying voice mails, "Your message is important to me; I'll call you right back." uh huh. Good for you on your persistance. We have a Kansas neighbor with an autistic grandson and I used to work for a residential treatment center; bless these children--and their caretakers!
Glad you're with this active, involved group to FIGHT it all! :) Welcome!
