Over the weekend mystery surrounded social media political shenanigans in a 2012 Kansas state senate contest.
Much has changed on the Web since Friday evening: The “Broken Kansas” blog is gone. The “Broken Kansas” Twitter account is gone. The MarkGilstrap.com domain no longer redirects to State Sen. Kelly Kultala‘s…

TOPEKA — Kansas this week signed a $135 million contract for a new state computer system designed to centralize applications for Medicaid and other joint state-federal assistance and insurance plans for those in need, state officials announced Tuesday.

As thousands of Obama's new regulations flow through the government pipeline, liberals try to offset the destruction these new rules will do to our economy and our liberty by giving us what they believe is the positive side of the new regulations. For example, new EPA Mercury and other regulations will soon begin taking coal-fired power plants offline because many plants will be too expensive to upgrade. As the plants are removed from service there will be rolling…Continue

I know that the Huffington Post isn't a great source, but this article seemed well written and important. This is less about Ron Paul than it is about America being on the brink of a massive paradigm shift in the political landscape. Win or lose, no one should underestimate Ron…Continue

Since there have been rumors of Sarah Palin joining the race, all sorts of experts, Left and Right and heads of tea party type groups have gotten in on the discussion. Some are saying, OH NO, we just can't be divided...we just can't expect the perfect candidate...they don't exist (well duh). Folks, that is exactly what the primaries are for. Of course all tea party types will have their favorite, there will be rancor within our own ranks....we will be divided. Primaries are…Continue
In Houston, Texas this week - a group of people came together. Among those in attendance, a home day-care owner, a homeschool mom, a retired police officer, a truck driver, a retired dude ranch owner, a teacher, state representatives, attorneys and others. The backgrounds of this group was as diverse as it could be, yet, everyone agreed on an important issue. Health care. Leslie and I were at this meeting and are looking forward to sharing what we learned.
There is no…Continue
I remember many years ago regularly setting in my grandfathers favorite room, listening to a radio broadcast. It was quiet throughout the rest of the house as everyone was gathered in grandpa's room around the radio. Occaisonally an abrupt AMEN would burst out of my grandfather, through the peaceful cloud covering the room. I was very young and had little or no idea of why this discussion on the radio had everyones undivided attention. but it did, afterwards the adults sat discussing what…Continue

Does anyone know if Kenny Hulshof is a Republican--or has been? And, also, is he 'running' for anything? The reason I ask, is because of the article in The KC Star this past Sun (8-21), 'slamming him on some of his past 'prosecutions'!
It would be like the 'Scar' to start ragggin' on folks ahead of the an 'election' season!

I cringe at the thought of describing myself or any one of my fellow associates in the health insurance industry as a "hero", considering we are forever indebted to the true heroes fighting in foreign land for our freedoms every single day. Perhaps "wizard" is a better term, since often times I find myself in a position where I create magical solutions to my clients' problems from thin air. No matter the term, this writing is a case FOR the Independent Health…Continue

While our immoral, child-president takes a lavish vacation on Martha's Vineyard millions of Americans continue to experience not only hard times, but often life-ending hardships and suffering caused in large part by the fool who lives in the White House.
We can all recall the obvious lies of Obama when he repeatedly said he would not rest until joblessness was reduced (while shutting down all off-shore drilling), that his administration was concentrating like…Continue
I know - - let's pass some more laws the government refuses to enforce. What happened to the oath of office? Where is the outrage from the legislative branch? Oh, sorry - - you're on vacation too.......
I Refuse to Obey the Law

Today the Washington Times reported that the Homeland Security Department said it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria like attending school, having a family member in the military, or a person is a primary care giver for other family members.
I can’t believe what I am reading. The DHS is partnering with the Justice department to review all ongoing cases to see who meets…Continue

Let's just say this was not a very social morning, for either side.
The confrontation took place this morning at 135th and Roe in Leawood, two blocks from the Church of the Resurrection, which was hosting a memorial service for fallen SEAL Chief Petty Officer Matthew Mason. The information we received, through email and Facebook, was sketchy at best with the alarming news that the Westboro Baptist church (or I should say, cult ) would be in attendance to promote their brand…Continue
