Live. Tea Party Rally in DC. http://live.foxnews.com/#/1155606982001…
See MoreToday I felt an anger that I did not know I was capable of feeling. Upon hearing that the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare, my heart sunk and I felt sick to my stomach. I was feeling beaten and hopeless when my phone started ringing and friends were asking me what they could do. I had a choice to make. I could sit and stew and be angry and give up (as I considered for a couple minutes), or I could step up and work harder to make positive changes.
This decision goes against the principle that the federal government has limited powers. Never before has our Congress had the power to force us to buy something they deem necessary. It has become clear to me that if changes are going to be made, it has to be from WE THE PEOPLE! It’s up to me and you to take back America. We cannot give up. Not now. Not ever. One of the first things we need to do is send most of our congressman and senators home. The Supreme Court justices sent us down this road because our congressman and senators enabled such an unconstitutional farce.
It’s no longer enough to look behind a name for an R or a D. We need to educate ourselves on who is the true conservative candidate. Primaries, which typically have a very low voter turn-out, are more important than ever. Our CHIPS platform is designed to do just that! A candidate saying they are conservative is not enough. The CHIPS program asks them to attest to conservative principles and we make sure they are in good standing with several organizations that focus on specific issues.
Rush Limbaugh said, “When you boil tea it gets stronger and that’s happening right now!” The tea party must take this anger and turn it into action. Americans overwhelmingly do not want this healthcare reform rammed down our throats. Our loss of freedoms will never be returned to us without a fight.
To be honest, I feel like I am still in the middle of a deep fog. I wish I could give you a one, two, three approach and and tell you how to fix this mess. I’m not sure that such a plan or a list even exists. I am an ordinary citizen, but grounded in what my constitution means, who cares about my country and I refuse to give up because the hill just became much steeper. The only things I know for sure is that in the coming days we must unite. Look for ways to become educated and engaged. Join me in finding ways to turn anger into action.

I concur.
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 3, 2012 at 10:30am Can you take maybe another conspiracy thought? Think about the possibility that Chief Justice Roberts "got word" that should his court negate The Illustrious One's "Signature Accomplishment" that the powerful one would find a way around it just as he's done on almost everything else and gotten away with it: Obama would declare the health care law in effect through Executive Dictate (yes, I meant to say dictate)......
Pretending that, Roberts beat him at his own game.....and stopped the Obama Machine marketing against what would have happened and been a new issue for his blaming, whining et al.....and how HE---the Revived Messiah---has now "saved" all these millions with "taking control of the situation" and making sure the health law went forward....
I can believe almost anything today. So, why not? :)
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 2, 2012 at 10:55pm A true conspiracy theorist would probably say his children's lives?
We'll have to pay attention to the next John Grisham novel.....
Yvonne, aren't the pawns always sacrificed in order to save the king? That is exactly what Roberts did to us. He sacrificed the pawns to the knights and bishops (of the liberal catholic church in this case) in order to save King Barrack and Queen Michelle and the 2 pillars (rooks) of Pelosi and Reid. I really have to wonder what he received for his treasonous turn -coat decision.
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 2, 2012 at 7:36pm Leah....that is exactly what I am hearing, too, and even mentioned it almost verbatim to your comment to his associate, Sean, whom I talked with this morning....
The states with Republican Governors who have already spoken out against implementation are Florida, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and Louisiana. The supposed reddest of all red states....KANSAS....should be on the list, eh what?
Comment by Leah Herron on July 2, 2012 at 11:33am It seems to me that Gov. Brownback has the opportunity to be an outstanding governor who will stand up and do what is right. What I am hearing is that he is choosing to just sit back and see what voters do. In my opinion, he needs to LEAD and he needs to do it now!!
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 2, 2012 at 10:23am It's Monday morning and more and more is coming out on the John Roberts' ruling.....it's making Leah's mention of "middle of deep fog" even more relevant. Instead of the fog clearing over these past few days, it's more like it's getting thicker.....(I think. Waiting to hear Rush today to see if he's got some new thoughts on some of his fog clearing or getting thicker!)
Much talk about Roberts' brilliance and most of all how inadequate we below his Supreme rating actually are. Surely you've heard the current description of "he's playing chess" while the rest of us are not in any game or at best, checkers or poker!
There's some resouding thoughts to ponder as I try desperately to understand what this complicated ruling entails. Roberts has given the states more power to resist and not be bullied by the Federal Government. Each state does NOT have to comply with ObamaCare. This does not make it a national law then, does it? Governor Jindal of Louisiana says they will not implement it and Attorney General Bondi of Florida has said the same (if I understand this correctly)....
I called our Kansas Governor Brownback's office this morning. Told we're going with KAN-CARE, our own Medicaid program as passed by the legislature last session. Secondly, that the only statement from Governor Brownback is that ObamaCare is in the hands of the voters this November. The then-elected Kansas state legislature in November will make the decisions on FUNDING.
Seems that we all are at a different level of voting importance with this Roberts ruling....!....? See that this August 7 Kansas primary and the general election in November has become EVEN MORE CRITICAL to elect conservatives---it may actually determine whether or not we implement ObamaCare in Kansas as it looks like our Governor may be waiting it out. Either it's repealed entirely by the U.S. Congress and signed by a Republican President in 2013 OR it is a state issue and our Kansas Governor Brownback will make his decision dependent upon the Kansas legislature votes.
I'm not all that good at chess. Somebody respond here to help us all understand if the premise is correct that these next voting moves help the Queen and Knights protect our King---Kansas---from ObamaCare.
Comment by Jody Neece on July 1, 2012 at 11:17pm I have removed my original post.
As a movie buff, one of my favs is "The Untouchables".
The death scene with Sean Connery and Kevin Costner resonates. In death, Sean Connery's last words to Elliott Ness (Kevin Costner) is, "What are you prepared to do?"
What are you prepared to do?
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 1, 2012 at 8:13pm Kathy...to the best of my knowledge and understanding of the issues, Mitt Romney was never FOR abortion. When he ran for office in maybe the most liberal state in the union (certainly one of the top), he ran on the platform of saying he would "not do anything to change the state's laws regarding abortion"......Many took that to say he supported abortion. Didn't defend pro life, didn't campaign he'd stop abortions, true, but that still is a bit different. You can't do anything unless you win.
He won the governorship in that race. The 80% Democrat/pro-choice/pro-abortion legislature at some time presented him with a new bill for signature that was something new regarding abortion. Do not remember the specifics, but Romney believed it was way out of the scope of pro life and REFUSED TO SIGN IT.
The media has been and is, as always, on its game in influencing us to think to their Left, always making "our side" look as bad as possible. Some of the issues will be true, some will have some element of truth, but the slant of it is their presentation. We need to be vigilant to first, listen carefully, and then to research at least the issues and the people involved who are especially important to us.......
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 1, 2012 at 7:55pm Jody....think your "silver lining" analysis is pretty right on. This morning Obama's Chief of Staff, Jack Lew, was on the Fox Sunday Morning with Chris Wallace and he was twisting and turning all over the place to deny that ObamaCare was a tax. Wallace kept him reasonably in line with "wait a minute...."
Wallace also called Lew on several other "untrue" or "twisted" statements, typical of all Democrats. Lew did not look good, but again, I am partisan...and aware.
Unfortunately, because of the media, Democrats are used to "having it both ways"......it is up to US to not allow it anymore. We have a lot more clout with the freedom of instant networking.....
Also announced today that the public trust of the media is down substantially......our networking is helping make that happen! Let's keep it up....and add to it! :)
