Where do we stand as a party? One stupid remark and a candidate is thrown under the bus. The Pres. and VP almost monthly screw up saying dumb things and the Democratic party does not go into a tizzy! They circle the wagons and move forward. We "Conservatives", fall on our swards and give the game away.
I like Sarah Palin and Sarah Steelman, however Palin is wrong in proposing that Steelman run as an independent. Look what Perot did when he went independent, He split the vote and did not win.
It is time for us to say "Yes Todd you screwed up", now lets move forward and beat the sox off McCaskill! Missouri has to add one more conservative to the Senate.

Comment by Richard Schroder on August 29, 2012 at 8:24am Right on. Mr. Akin did screw up and used inappropriate words but that was only one mistake and the democrats are always saying stupid things and the liberal media gives them a pass. The leaders of the Republican Party (most, I believe are RHINOS) constantly complain about the double standard but are themselves guilty of using that same double standard. Mr. Reince Priebus, Chairman of the RNC, was a disgrace when he said that the RNC would not provide funds to Mr. Akin. Mr. Priebus and the RNC will be responsible, as least partially, if we do not take back the senate. Shame on you, Mr. Chairman.
Comment by locomotivebreath1901 on August 26, 2012 at 12:15pm Nicely done, W. Dale Russell. I agree with Alex Poulter's comments: short, sweet and to the point.
I also agree with Alex Poulter's pointed observation of why is it only incumbent upon Mr. Akin not to rock the boat, yet not a concern for Mrs. Steelman or Palin?
Comment by Alex Poulter on August 22, 2012 at 1:48pm Although i do not vote in Missouri, Akin would have been my 2nd or 3rd choice on August 7th. On August 8th, Akin would have been my 1st choice. Today, after everything that has happened, Akin would be my ONLY choice! This is the ONLY political reality that matters. Do not ask Congressman Akin to put his country first versus his personal ambitions. Rather, ask Sarah Steelman and Sarah Palin to put their country first and jump into the Akin campaign with both feet NOW! Senator Claire McCaskill is extremely beatable and will get beaten if everyone focuses on conservative principles and Christian values. Let's roll!
