Last year, the Kansas State Rifle Association, successfully supported a bill that changed regulations so that those with concealed carry permits could continue to carry uninterrupted while Hunting, Fishing and Fur Harvesting and would not be restricted to type of handgun, caliber of handgun or particular hunting seasons.
This year, Representative Jim Howell has sponsored a bill that would expand upon that language and allow all those who are Hunting, Fishing or Fur Harvesting to enjoy the right to carry a handgun for self defense purposes without restriction of type of handgun, caliber of handgun or particular handgun seasons.
This bill was introduced in the House on January 20, 2012 and is being heard this week in the Committee of Federal and State Affairs.
