Chick-Fil-A under attack at Kansas Universities
By now, everyone has heard about the controversy that erupted when Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy spoke of his support for Biblical marriage between one man and one woman. Across the nation and here in Kansas, liberal activists have begun to take action to target Chick-Fil-A.
A small but vocal group has initiated a petition to remove Chick-Fil-A from both the Wichita State University and University of Kansas campuses. They claim that because of the views expressed by the company president, Chick-Fil-A has no place on state-run campuses.
Those activists are wrong. The views expressed by Dan Cathy are solid, traditional and widely accepted.
The Kansas Family Policy Council initiated a petition in support of Chick-Fil-A at Wichita State University and since Friday over 500 people have signed the WSU petition.
We then learned of the same scenario unfolding at KU. On Wednesday, we started a petition to support Chick-Fil-A at KU and in just over 24 hours, nearly 250 people have weighed in supporting Chick-Fil-A at KU.
The situation at KU is critical. According to the Wichita Eagle, the Chick-Fil-A contract is up for renewal and this issue may be used to jeopardize their presence on the KU campus.
The petition to remove Chick-FIl-A from the KU campus gained momentum over the past few days and university officials are watching and seeking input on this situation.
Below are links to the two petitions - one for Wichita State and one for KU. Please sign both of them and we will let Chick-Fil-A know of your support and we will also let the two universities know you do not believe that this issue should result in Chick-Fil-A being evicted from either campus.
