Dear Kansas Activist,
Congressman Kevin Yoder has left many questions unanswered lately. When asked why he has changed his stance on E-Verify last week, Rep. Yoder said he was for "comprehensive immigration reform."
What does that mean, Rep. Yoder??
Some things Rep. Yoder promised to support in 2010:
Mandatory E-Verify
Defunding Sanctuary Cities
Funding an Entry/Exit System
Ending Birthright Citizenship
Ending Chain Migration
Ending the Visa Lottery
Limiting Worker Importation
Reducing Total Immigration
Many of you have been attending town halls, making phone calls, and office visits to Rep. Yoder and his staff. The Congressman and his offices have been giving you the run-around. I know many of you are frustrated, but we need to keep the pressure on Rep. Yoder.
The simplest way to get Rep. Yoder to answer our questions is to bring the candidate survey to his offices.
This Wednesday, Rep Yoder will have a staffer available to talk to constituents. Please bring the survey to his staff and ask them to pass it along to the Congressman. Ask the staff why Rep. Yoder answered "yes" to these in 2010, but has done nothing since he was elected.
Wednesday, September 12
Time: 12 - 1 p.m.
Where: Cedar Roe Library, Meeting Room

Thanks Yvonne for posting the survey, so much I have to catch up on!
I will contact Numbers for the survey, sorry took so long getting back, spilled coffee on laptop, laptop didn't survive the abuse!
I work at a major retailer and see the abuse by that takes place by 'many' non-english speaking hispanics. The cashiers, many are single mothers see these people ripping off the tax payers with their WIC & Food Stamps, then pull out $100 bills, go the money center and send their cash to Mexico. Many know if they hold up the line long enuf the managers will let them have the 'extra' product they have in their cart that is not covered by WIC or Food Stamps.
One screamed at the cashier the other day, "JUST SHUT UP & GIVE IT TO ME" when the items were NOT covered by her WIC vouchers. Kansans are allowed cash back on their food stamp cards, use that cash to purchase alcohol, cigarettes, etc. Of course it's not just Spanish speaking people on WIC & Food Stamps, they ARE the ones that try to scam the system, usually getting what they want. I assure you the retailer is NOT eating the loss, you and I are paying higher prices to cover the loss.
We employees would love to feed our family the fresh fruit, vegetables and meats they take home, however not an option on our wages.
Comment by Yvonne Starks on September 30, 2012 at 11:12pm Still no answer here about what our Secretary of State Kris Kobach, one of America's top gurus on immigration....if not the top.....says about signing on to e-verify.
I got my answer today.
If you are still interested...and concerned as most seem to be here on this blog.....would suggest you call Kris Kobach Secretary of State office on Monday and ask what his position is on voting for a U.S. e-verify bill.....

Comment by Angelo H Mino on September 22, 2012 at 12:19pm I will like to clarify some misconceptions about some of my blogs or comments,
Last night a enjoyed talking to a group of 3 families, eleven people total , all were together at one of my warehouse employee’s home. Four of them libertarians.
The first question was. Should we vote for Yoder? And here it goes, 3 of these people have access to some of my post and/or they are chippers and they do believe I am campaigning against Mr. Yoder.
I told them I am voting for Yoder, and I will continue to support the Republic Party and platform, we can’t take any risk of bringing back a democrat as our Representative in DC, even that as you know there is no democrat running this time, and Yoder is running almost unopposed.
The other candidate Mr. Joel Balam (To whom I respect and admire due to his educational and cultural background and solid Christian roots) is running a very low and poor campaign, his website is not completed and there is no a properly maintenance of his site.. I wish if we can converted him as a Republican. I know he does have some connections with some of you chippers, my invitation still open to speak with Joel. I did enjoyed before exchanging points of view with Miss Jasmin Talbert former candidate from the same party
With my comments, I just want people to be aware about the political landscape and to keep our law makers accounted for their actions. Right know it is no a good time for Immigration Reform or any immigration bill that will take away employment opportunities to our own recent graduated students, and you need to call your Representatives and Senators and let them know and request them o keep their votes away from supporting those bills, and better to start talking again about extending E-Verify areas of impact..
About this last statement I may elaborate more in a later time , because after a conversation with one of our USD Superintendents, we may ended bringing people from oversees if WE DON‘T improve the school system all over the nation, we need to stop allowing California to dictate and run the school system of our nation.
It is normal for a citizen to opposed some of the law makers points of view, but I will never take my support to a republican brother or sister. I will pick the best of them and I will work with and for them
Comment by Angelo H Mino on September 19, 2012 at 7:48am Much better will be hiring our students attending our schools and graduating from the same. It is sad to see a store manager at Overland Park with a Degree in MATH seling purses or shoes, Why? The NEW SET of visas will keep her/her out of job from their field of study.
Let take care of oruselves before, reaching from people from outside. Let's employee our own citizens, they are wrothy, because they ar AMERICANS!
Talking about people serving in the MIlitary from 09-15 to 10-15 it is Hispanic Soldiers Month in our Military. I salute you brother and sisters! Any seconds?
Comment by Yvonne Starks on September 19, 2012 at 1:59am On page 26---of 54 pages of the 2012 Republican platform---the E-verify sentence is followed by State enforcement efforts in the workplace......
This sort of goes along with my question about E-verify which no one has answered. Is this more of a State issue or a Federal issue dependent upon the bills in Congress? Which is it that Kris Kobach prefers? Kobach was one of the contributors to this platform, by the way.
Also thought it interesting....perhaps enlightening....that directly in the middle of that same page 26 was a specially-featured paragraph block:
The greatest asset of the American economy is the American worker.
Just as immigrant labor helped build our country in the past,
today's legal immigrants are making vital contributions in every aspect of our lives.
Hmmm.....That's not related to KR5893 is it? 'Conditional visas for professional immigrants....and graduate students? Don't know the answer, but am reading "professional" and "graduate" into vital contributions. Much different than all those illegals crossing the border by 'coyote' means..... ????
The platform also praises NON CITIZENS serving in our Armed Forces.....Any comments on that?
The platform further makes the statement that the "double layered fencing MUST finally be built." I'd say there's probably many Republicans....politicians and citizens....who would question or disagree....
We've had Republican (and the Democrat) platform 'debates' and comments on Political Chips in the past....specific was the 2010 Kansas Republican platform where once more Kevin Yoder's 'signing on' was put into question (I personally participated in contributing to that platform and I personally was against anyone fully pledging or signing on to it).......and believe that Leslie Schmidt posted a blog sometime ago about the almost-overkill length of the Republican platforms. Anyone ever hear of the Gettysburg Address? What was it...one page.....12 minutes?
Must say that I would be concerned about anyone who would state he absolutely was for pledging/signing onto every single word and direction written in 54 pages by a committee. Don't think that's the main premise of a platform....it's generalized ideas and ideals.
LIMITED GOVERNMENT.....PRO LIFE.... FEWER and LOWER TAXES....ENFORCING OUR LAWS.....CUTTING UNNECESSARY AND STRANGLING REGULATIONS, CUTTING SPENDING......Believe and verbally agree to do those and you'll be following the major Republican platform just fine.....
Comment by Angelo H Mino on September 18, 2012 at 6:00pm Already is mandatory for government contractors.
I hope one day will be mandatory to all, unless.......
Comment by W Dale Russell on September 18, 2012 at 8:55am Pg. #26 in the 2012 Republican platform, states that the use of E-Verify must be made mandatory. Is the Congressman going to follow the Platform as written? Or is Congressman Yoder going to head out on his own, and ignore the his Parties' Platform?
I truly believe that all of our elected legislators need to read their platform and and at least make an effort to stand as a united front, rather than go out in every direction on their own.
It might also be a good idea for all of us to read this well written document.

Comment by Angelo H Mino on September 17, 2012 at 3:10pm Me too, I am very confused too, first we are giving amnesty to all the Illegal children under the Referred Deportation Action (30 years old are considered children under this Policy).
On June 6, 2012 Representative Yoder Co-sponsored and introduced in the House of Representatives a bill with Loretta Sanchez (D-CA), Jared Polis (D-CO) and Russ Carnahan (D-MO), and other lawmakers. The bill is call STARUP Act 2.0 (KR 5893). The intention of this bill is to “create and keep jobs in America”..
How, very easy…..Are you ready?.....You better be seated…….
By creating a new set of conditional visas for 75,000 professional immigrants and 50,000 additional visas to bring Foreign STEM graduate students.
WOW amazing!
This bill was originally introduced in the Senate on May, 22, 2012.
