Pepsico recently allowed it self to be bullied by ColorOfChange.org into terminating its relationship with ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) because of its opposition to voter photo ID and "stand your ground laws". This is my letter to pepsico. I urge you to copy it and send it to Pepsico:
Pepsico USA 700 Anderson Hill Rd.
Purchase, NY 10577
Attn: CEO Indra Nooyi
Dear Ms. Nooyi:
We understand that you were recently pressured by the group “ColorOfChange.org” into terminating your association with ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council). Your original reason for allying yourself with ALEC was because of assistance your company required with proposed food and beverage taxes and I believe that ALEC served you well in this regard.
ColorOfChange.org contacted you and encouraged you to end your affiliation with ALEC because of their opposition to proposed requirements for photo ID for voters here is the U.S. and because of their opposition to laws which allow our citizens to stand their ground in the event that they are attacked by persons threatening their well-being.
You should know that the leader of ColorOfChange is Van Jones; a 9/11 truther, a person who believes that the U.S. government planned the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. You should also understand that you have allowed your company to be a victim of bullying by deciding to break off your association with ALEC. Your acquiescence is totally understandable in light of this article:http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/greaseless/201106/conquering-th....
What I wish to point out to you is that by giving in to the bullies at ColorOfChange you have encouraged them to approach other target companies for the purpose of bullying them as well and that you have distanced yourself from the vast Conservative segment of the American economy for having taken sides in this political argument. You cannot excuse yourself from the argument by claiming that you don’t take sides because, by dropping your association with ALEC, you have already taken sides. Better for Pepsico to tell ColorOfChange that you won’t allow yourself to be bullied and to have a normal business relationship with ALEC because it serves your business interests.
We can’t believe that you are allowing them to bully you in this way. They are an organization with many students, unemployed, and union paid agitators with a political agenda who want you to cave in to their demands so they can move on to bully their next victim to further their political agenda. They are telling you that they will stop using your products or services in the hope that you will cave in to their demands. They don’t even use your products or services and if they do they aren‘t going to stop because they are already addicted to your stuff and they aren‘t going to change because they don‘t like Coke any more than I do. What do you have to fear? Nothing at all! If you stand up to them and just say “NO” they will go away and leave you and other businesses alone.
Please do the right thing by the people who actually use your products and services and stand up to these people for they can have no power over you unless you grant it to them.
Sincerely,
Comment
Comment by John Stolte on April 23, 2012 at 5:14am Yvonne, was it Pepsi caving in on ALEC?
Comment by Yvonne Starks on April 22, 2012 at 11:01pm Seems like I've been thru something similar with Pepsico in the past.....but can't remember exactly what the issue was....No doubt some politically correct Leftist direction they'd decided to go.
ALEC, by the way, is associated with the excellent conservative organization, The Heritage Foundation.
Any questions? Uh huh, indeed.....
I gave up on Pepsi during the last campaign due to the them changing their logo, almost completely matching Obama's logo. "It was a good time for them to do so". Uh huh whatever.
