There is an event being held at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank starting today called Occupy The Fed, or Occupy KC.  This event is scheduled to go on indefinately.  While many Tea Partiers are unhappy with the Fed and would like to see it go away, aligning yourself with the "Occupy" group is not the way to go.  The goal of Occupy is to collapse our financial and banking system in an attempt to redistribute the wealth.  This is the same movement that is currently conducting Occupy Wall Street.  They are the extreme left wing, anarchists, socialists, communists, unions, etc. and make Obama look like a Conservative(I got an invite from a union member aquaintance who went to WI to protest Scott Walker).  Some Tea Partiers have set up facebook sites to go along with this event, I would encourage everyone to let them know what Occupy is and not to attend.  I believe that if Tea Party people show up then the media will just use it against us and use the Occupy groups behavior as the behavior of Tea Partiers.  Don't take my word for it though, here is their website.  http://www.occupykc.com/

We can have an influence on them though Steve. The protest is very open. I have been down there and mingled with them. They are receptive to frank discussion. I have also been on their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/occupykansascity#!/occupykc. I don't comment on their ideas (some of them are whacky) but I put forth my own respectfully. As I said; they are receptive to good ideas and they have made some positive comments on mine.

It's sad, too, because a lot of the folks who may have had good intentions in beginning the "Occupy KC" protests are now being actively and aggressively co-opted by the same "ruling class" folks that they claim to be against.

It took approximately 2 years for the original "Tea Party" movement to be co-opted by the Republican Party.  (Some may argue it's the other way around.)  It's taking the "Occupy Wall Street / Occupy KC" movement about 2 weeks to be entirely co-opted by the radical leftist wing of the Democrat Party.

Why can't there be a true movement that attacks the ruling class of BOTH political parties, and will not tie itself to either one???

(But, then again, I am an idealist... sigh...)

Occupy KC is NOT the Tea Party. You are correct about that.

There are a lot of people in this nation who are unhappy but don't know where to direct their anger. Many of these people would be with the Tea Party if we were still visible. Since we arent't out in the streets anymore they have nowhere else to go but to the "Occupy" groups and they are going to be co-opted by Steven Lerner, Van Jones, Michael and MoveOn. We need to be there staging counter rallies with the message that the culprits are the government and the Fed and not necessarily Wall St.

Just one of the several articles on The Blaze about the protests going on around the nation:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/unions-moveon-org-set-to-join-occup...

It is just as we speculated several weeks ago on V&V, that the unions are or would be heavily involved in the protests against capitalism which has provided them with: jobs, income, employer "sponsored" health insurance, retirement accounts and so on. What an ungrateful bunch of whiners. And to boot, the media is trying to make the commies sound like the Tea Party movement! You did see the interview on Sharpton's show with the "professional sociologist" who stated that, "This is not about reform but revolution"?

Big labor, George Soros, Susan Sarandon, Van Jones and more are now publicly aligned with these Occupy groups.  If there was any doubt about who these folks were before it should all be erased now.

These loon toon Libs/Anarchists/Bolsheviks call themselves the '99% Movement.' I call 'em the "Whine and Cry Movement: Expecting Productive Citizens to Give 'Em Stuff Instead of Creating it Themselves."

Thank you Brian, for taking the time to spread the word!  The only way we will succeed is if we are willing to share information and ideas!

If you look at their website you will see that they have enlisted the help of lawyers to make sure they don't violate any laws.  As far as I can see they are not operating under any permit and are trying to make sure they don't do the things that will make it illegal, ie. no amplified sound, no tents, etc.

I find it despicable that they would allow this bunch to desecrate the grounds of the memorial and museum which honors the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of Americans and allies of WWI.

Thank you for your support!
