I have 'paying' clients in New York, Los Angeles, Florida, Nashville, etc.... from Oregon to Georgia---but NONE in Kansas City, the place I have called my home for 4 years. I say 'paying' clients because... I have been asked, and I have obliged with multiple free 'pro-bono' projects. by various KC residents---who's promises of 'future work' never transpired.
More importantly, I've ALSO recently posted about my search for a church in KC--- in Leslie's Forum on religion... and my own blog-- about how I have been turned away by 4 KC churches based on political ideology.
Not a single 'invite' to church (or anything else for that matter)--- in fact, not even a word --> not just from here at PChips---but from KC as a whole.
[At least Political Chips doesn't delete me like the other KC based entities]
Of all the cities I have lived, including Dallas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Tucson, AZ & Lexington KY---Kanas City is BY FAR...the coldest.
But I can also proudly state that my relationship with God is stronger than it has ever been in my life. And it is because of this relationship---I write this not for me---because 'thank God'... I have more friends outside of Kansas City than I can count---I write this for those who may not be as fortunate as me.
I write this for those that are reaching our right this very minute---- that they might at least be in your prayers.
Assuming there are still some in KC that pray.

I left a comment on your page about New Life. church.
Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on August 27, 2012 at 10:20pm We're cool Joe.
You were saying 'your' and making specific references, saying 'they told me to leave', etc. So I thought you'd gone to my Church!
But our priests would never say those things. I know they would welcome questions but we don't 'have positions' on the things you mention. Their answer to all would be, 'We follow the Magisterium of the Holy Roman Catholic Church', and they'd offer to instruct you. It's quite complex.
I wish you well on your search Joe.
Comment by Joe Dan on August 27, 2012 at 7:20pm Kathy, I have never heard of or mentioned 'St. Rose Philippine Duchesne'---sorry for the confusion.
Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on August 27, 2012 at 7:16pm I want to be sure I'm understanding you Joe. You went to my Church-St. Rose Philippine Duchesne in KCK-and you asked the questions you stated below. After you asked them, they refused to answer you, then asked you to leave the Church?
With which priest did you speak? Fr. Fongemie or Fr. Nolan? When did this take place?
Comment by Joe Dan on August 27, 2012 at 3:54pm Thanks Greg Beal... I have actually tried 3 others since April. LifePointe, Wornall Rd Baptist, and another one that the escapes me, I must have missed your previous message--cuz I respond to all private messages. More times than not, I miss public social media posts. But thank you.
Kathy Brown, Esq.---its awesome you have a church to call home. Feel free to blame me, if you like. But with the greatest of respect---they asked me to leave---not vice versa. And 'questions' are not remotely 'requirements.' Its not like they gave 'a wrong answer' ---NONE of these guys gave ANY answer---they refused to answer...then suggested I go elsewhere Hand to God. That is creepy.
I simply & respectfully asked each: "What is your public position & how do you advise your congregations with respect to the now non-stop attacks on Christianity--- the removal of our Ten Commandments, the removal of our Crosses here and restrictions on public prayer, right here in the USA---and on a global basis with respect to the persecution & murder of Christians."
If standing for God's Laws over Man's Laws is the problem... the problem is not mine. AND If your church will not allow questions.... it's not really a church.
And the point here is not my denial---the point is that we actually have places that claim to be houses of God---that are turning people away.
A real churches does not turn people away...(the only possible exception is if I were an 'armed' violent felon on drugs. FYI---I'm not.
BTW, 1 John 4:1 says: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on August 27, 2012 at 12:16am Joe, I can't imagine why you're having such a problem. There are tons of churches here in KC! In fact, they're all over you the minute you even set a foot inside one!
But you can't approach them by spelling out your 'ideology', then seeing if they pass the 'test'. I mean, no Church will stand for that. And if you've had so many turn you away, doesn't that show you that your 'ideology'/manner, is likely the problem?
I mean it's not as if they're all in a conspiracy v. you or something. OK? And KC is a very 'praying' town.
You could certainly come to my Church if you liked! But I must say, you can't give your requirements to our holy priests! Oh, no! They're very kind, but it's WE who have to conform to CHRIST, not vice-versa.
On April 25, I suggested a church that might be of interest to you. What have you done about it? You might also like Calvary Community Church at 6345 Floyd in O.P. 10:45 AM Sunday.
