Barack and Michelle Obama will be moving to Hawaii in January of 2013 and preparations are now being made to purchase an estate in close proximity to land owned by the University of Hawaii, where the Obama presidential library and “political center” will be located.
Here in Chicago, it’s pretty obvious that Michelle does not want to move back to this city and its winters (for any reason) and Michelle’s mother, who’s been living in the White House with her daughter and her family, will be happily making the move to Hawaii as well.
I have a friend whose family knows Michelle’s mother; they have been crystal clear that the elderly Mrs. Robinson regularly says that she’ll be in Hawaii next year permanently with her daughter and granddaughters. There is neither talk of returning to Chicago to live nor of living in the White House for another four years — instead, there’s a sense of “it was fun while it lasted” coming from Mrs. Robinson in her talks with her Chicago friends.
Democrats are already working to locate an acceptable property in Hawaii for the Obamas to live; this land and its complex of buildings must be ready to move-into in January and must meet all the requirements the Secret Service demands since the Obamas will be granted continued protection, by law, for nine years after Barack leaves office. The Reagans, Clintons, and second Bush family all had their post-presidential homes purchased quietly on the side by friends when their times in office were coming to an end. The Obamas are doing the same thing now.

Whatever happens, I can see the 'TAXPAYERS' getting stuck with the 'BILLS'. Maybe Bill & Hillary have been offered a month vacation at their place.

I did so want to go to Hawaii before 'Hitting the Can', so to speak, but now I can just vision the crowds, as if Hawaii isn't already commercialized enough. "Give me a bucket, I think I'm going to throw up."
What if Obama 'IS' re-elected? Does that mean Michelle, the girls, and her mother will be leaving the WH and living in Hawaii for the next 4 yrs.? Can they do that? Something is 'NOT' right with this picture. Either the 'Story' is a 'HOAX' or Obama isn't planning on winning re-election. If so, why so much 'Campaigning'? Why Clinton? And if so, "Is Obama going to be traveling back and forth?"

$35 Million? Did I hear that right? I don't believe George & Laura Bush paid that much money for their 'NEW' home. Something really smells 'FISHY' to me. Where did they get all of that kind of money? Also, reading along, did anyone notice that they had originally decided on Chicago, only if Obama could get the Summer Olympics to come to Chicago. Why did they have to 'RUIN' Hawaii? Can you just imagine 'SECURITY' everwhere they go?

Do we dare hope for a change that this is true, that the democrat big wigs and the Obama's are in a panic over having to vacate D.C.? $35 million for a house? Maybe Pritzker should get some advice from Rezko about buying property for Obama. Then there is the minor detail over rich folks (the 1%) not wanting to give to purchase their new digs. After all, they didn't earn that money nor did they build their businesses. Too scared to move back to cold, windy, violent Chicago?
