THE NAACP: BOO WHO?
It is no revelation or surprise to me that Mitt Romney got booed at the NAACP Convention this week in Texas. It is however admirable how Romney handled himself during his appearance. There are not many people that would go into enemy territory and speak up for their principles while receiving very little applause or while being booed. Mitt Romney did that and stood up for Constitution and The American Dream. The message went right over the heads of the audience because they were preconditioned to reject the messenger.
When Romney spoke about repealing OBAMACARE he got booed, and the media is making a very big deal out of that fact. They should however, be making a big deal about what the Patient Affordable Health Care Act will mean to all Americans, and they really need to point out to the Black community the repercussions of this law. They need to know that it is not what they think it is. Mitt Romney went into a hostile environment and stood his ground. The audience missed a great opportunity to learn about what make America a great nation all because of bias and colorblindness.
In the end the message is clear however because many in the audience will think hard about the message as time unfolds itself and the law becomes a reality. They also must have realized that when Romney spoke about Black unemployment that the facts speak for themselves. Romney laid it out for them, and pulled no punches. He also did not pander to the crowd by tailoring his message or making his delivery fit the audience such as Hillary Clinton and President Obama does when they address Black Audiences.
Let’s post the good side of what Romney did, and keep our message before all people. The seed is planted, so let’s give it some water, and watch it grow and increase.

Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on July 22, 2012 at 9:59pm Gee Bobbie: That's good to know! Some of those NAACP folks have sense, apparently. I mean if they're astute enough not to fawn all over the Holder anyhow...
Comment by Bobbie J Batson on July 21, 2012 at 8:15pm Ok, yes the biased KC Star reported the booing but it was not audience wide. He started out wit some funny remarks and got a few laughs at beginning of his speech. By the end, Mr. Romney received a standing ovation and the tenor of the entire gathering had changed. None of which was in the Star. How do I know, several good friends were there and were very pleased that he was open and honest. have they changed their minds--for the first time have become very open. Also AG spoke first and he was not at all well received by the very same crowd. All he did was whine and complain about having to cough up info on Fast and Furious but for once, the audience was not in the mood for such childishness.
Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on July 16, 2012 at 10:58pm Well Greg, just be glad it was MOI correcting you, and that it was only blacks you offended. Had it been Muslims well...(!?*#). By now you'd be starring in your very own execution video with them all dancing around. Religiously of course.
I've been in touch with the Rev's and they said since it's your first offense you can 'contribute' 25 large. Oh-but don't bother to send it to their money-laundering operation, whoops, I mean, their charitable 501C3 corp. the NAACP. Just send it directly to them at their [palatial non-ghetto] home addresses.
Oh-that's $25 thou EACH, thank you very much. And let this be a lesson to you.
Dang dang darn, I knew I should not have asked those questions or made the extremely racist comments that I did. Now I've been appropriately upbraided by a lawyer and I have to send a large check to the race pimps....ummm REV. Al Srahrpton or REV. Jesse Jackson. How large should the check be 8 1/2 x 11, 9x12, or a billboard?
Comment by Kathy Brown, Esq. on July 14, 2012 at 12:33am Why Greg-what are you thinking? What possesses you to ask rational questions of the NAACP?
Surely you know reality is theirs to construe. And questioning Obama! Sir, you are OUT OF LINE!
And that goes to show that YOU'RE A RACIST. Now stop that immediately and, as a guilty white man, immediately send a large check to Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.
Didn't Obama skip the convention? How come? I think I saw somewhere that he has taken the black vote for granted and didn't feel the need to show up. At least Romney had the courage to show up. Can the NAACP call him a racist if he spoke at their convention?
Comment by Yvonne Starks on July 13, 2012 at 10:31am Boy, would I like to have a Body Language Expert make some comments from this one small snapshot of the audience! Know that the main guy in the front is easily identified as "close minded".....arms tightly folded and wrapped around himself. That about says it all, eh what?
Liked Bill O'Reilly last night interviewing Hilary Shelton, NAACP VP, and after a vigorous debate of Romney's appearance, O'Reilly told Shelton that he and their organization simply wanted Romney to "kiss your butts".....
Well, that about says it all, too, eh what? And, can't be said much better than that.
I can remember waaaay back when....the 1950s.....(oh, the time, the time)....when my sweet little feisty mother was a huge baseball fan. Her favorite team and player for the Cleveland Indians was Luke Easter (look him up---it's a good story).
Easter was black; she had to stand up to a lot of criticism (and much "good-fun" kidding as well) in defending him and his role on the team. Just one small example of my not being brought up racist in any form....but gotta tell ya, these past three years and what is happening now is really giving me pause. I'm trying desperately to separate the liberalism....but is they who keep tying everything together with race....and so many always being the victim, the offended, the abused.....showing their whining, their unhappiness, their belief that nothing has been or is ever "good enough" (???) .....and gotta say it.....showing their out and out hate of us conservatives......Republicans....whites.....Tea Partiers...
Speaking of seeds.....which ones are now sprouting? And which ones will be companion seeds caused by other planting? My fair and loving of all people little old mother (who had a much, much tougher life than many of the blacks today, even including some early-country discrimination), were she alive today, would not believe how far backward in race (and human!) relations we seem to be heading.....
