I made a mistake with an assertion I made in the post from 2:52pm on July 16 stating that ALL of the candidates I listed were in fact certified 5-CHIP candidates. Specifically only the 4th District candidate was NOT awarded a 5-CHIP status at the Homer Cole Center in Pittsburg Kansas at our local Southeast Kansas Conservative Meetup Group monthly meeting. And why is that so? Because Mike Houser had not yet taken the Political Chips survey yet! Mike Houser is running for the 4th district seat and when he is vetted officially I will be happy to make that annoucement on my comments page as well.
Well it was a fantastic meeting last Thursday evening at the Homer Cole Center in Pittsburg Kansas. Candidates for local offices were in attendance including Mike Houser running for the 4th district seat in Cherokee County, Michelle Hucke running for the 3rd district seat in Crawford County (City of Pittsburg and the township of Chickapee) and myself running for the 2nd district seat in the remainder of Crawford County, the majority of Neosho County, the far west part of Allen county and the southwest corner of Bourbon County. All of us are seeking the statehouse seat for our area and Jake Laturner is seeking the Senator position. I am happy to report that ALL of us were rated as 5-CHIP candidates for office!
I hope and pray that we will all be successful in our bids to represent southeast Kansas and that we will serve God for limited and constitutionallybased government of the people, by the people and for the people. For too long the Special Interests have rewarded the incumbents and the status quo with the result that only the government funded sector is surviving and the free-market investors are being abandoned.
I answered a candidate questionare for the local newspaper Sunday and one of the questions posed asked what I would do to address the poverty and ailing economy of southeast Kansas and specifically in Crawford County. The question begged me to ask why anyone would vote for an incumbent if their policies have resulted in this very state of affairs?
I support the Fair Tax and the state version known as the Kansas Economic Freedom Act of 2014 to lift ALL boats in the state to prosperity!!!
And speaking of boats, here's one example of the government versus free market mentality . Did you know that the department that collects the boat tax in Kansas actually costs more to run than ALL the revenue it collects in taxes?
And that's according to Dr. Arthur Hall, the Director of Applied Economics at Kansas University!
I guess that means literally that the Boat Tax Collection Department is capsized economically?
I endorse a cost/benefit analysis of ALL State of Kansas government departments as a way to determine the viability of that department economically and to bring that information out for oversight and reform if necessary.
As I am a 5-CHIP candidate you can definitely be rest assured of my stance as a Constitutional Conservative running for the 2nd district statehouse seat of Kansas!
